As people with more diverse backgrounds enter entrepreneurship, a number of unique sectors are rapidly rising within the startup world. Healthcare has demonstrated massive growth in the past. Along with this rapid growth we see have seen a torrent of new devices emerge that are connected to the Internet and each other through a wide range of different wireless networking protocols. As a result, there’s a constant race on to develop more healthcare techniques and utilities. However, these innovations have only touched a few parts of the world, and have not benefitted everyone equally.

Amongst this, there has been an emergence of the new start up ‘Helium’ which brings a hassle-free platform and allows the storage of patient records and hospital management. They have built a straightforward user interface to help hospital employees have a better time inputting, accessing, and managing patient data. This platform has been particularly targeted towards African markets and other markets where, where hospital employees tend to not have as much access to higher education and user training alone is viewed as an ineffective solution. Helium really touched my heart because it not only aims at improving healthcare but also because it aims to equalize healthcare across the world. Through their efforts, more than 20 hospitals have adopted the platform and seen massive improvements to their organizational management.
