Design is a much more complicated process than just pleasing the eye. Aesthetics play a large role, however, designs not only please the eye but also fill the heart with satisfying experiences. Designing has the power to influence and heighten qualities of lives. Human-centered design is the process of developing innovative solutions through the use of design. The key to human-centered design is empathy and the ability to understand the needs of the people. The moment you realize these needs, you have infinite potentials to impact lives.

As the Director of Design of EEVM, I wished to extend my passion for graphic design beyond producing flyers and creating animations. In hopes of using design to create an impact in the community, I initiated Emory Envisions. With other students who share this passion, I aim to work on human-centered design projects for small businesses and startups in Atlanta. I still have so much more to learn to fully understand the concept of human-centered design. However, one day I hope that this passion will bring happiness to many in my community. I can’t wait to proudly present Emory Envisions’ first project that will fuel more design endeavors in the future.
